In the arid and harsh routines of daily life, music transcends mere leisure activities to become 'sound therapy,' healing the mind. The 19th-century German poet Berthold Auerbach famously said, 'Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.'
However, even if one listens to music daily, it is challenging to invest millions of won in 'room acoustics' unless they are an audiophile. As more people seek quiet and calm healing, large music listening rooms like 'Concino Concrete' and 'Music Space Camerata' are thriving.
Noticing the popularity of music listening rooms among the younger generation, Sangji Construction plans to introduce a home music listening room and multi-purpose relaxation space brand called 'AcousticRoom' under its new brand, 'Kyleum Escala.'
The 'AcousticRoom' is a collaborative development between Sangji Construction and Acoustics Space, a company specializing in spatial acoustics for concert halls and opera theaters. Combining five core elements of acoustics, design, HVAC, electrical, and multimedia, the goal is to create a multimedia space where various activities such as movie watching, music listening, and reading can be enjoyed.
The 'AcousticRoom' provides consistent and excellent sound quality anywhere in the space through precise acoustic design and expert supervision. It plans to integrate products from the Hi-Fi audio brand HiFi Rose and the Swiss high-end speaker manufacturer Piega to deliver sound close to the original.
A company representative said, 'We implement a personalized listening environment through custom designs that include speaker placement, amplifier selection, and acoustic corrections based on customer preferences. The ergonomic layout maximizes convenience and efficiency, using high-quality materials and meticulous finishing to enhance the space's completeness.'
Additionally, the room is equipped with a human-centric lighting system (HCL) close to natural light, the latest HVAC system that adjusts temperature, humidity, and oxygen levels to create a pleasant environment akin to listening to music in a forest. The system also supports the biological rhythm by adjusting color temperature and brightness according to the resident's activities.
Notably, the eco-friendly low-noise design maximizes energy efficiency without disturbing acoustics. The AI-based smart energy management system optimizes power consumption to reduce carbon emissions, and a professional power system separates audio and household power.
Hyun Jin-oh, the CTO of 'Acoustics Space,' said, 'By integrating the company's experience and technology in architectural and electro-acoustics with Sangji Construction's embedded beam technology for inter-floor noise reduction, we could offer 'AcousticRoom' as an optional feature for the first time in Korea. We expect that the era of applying 'AcousticRoom' to all luxury homes will come in the future.'
